Where I am licensed
I am licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor-S in the State of Texas only. I can provide counseling services only to clients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the session. This is not a preference. The state where you are physically sitting governs the care, so if you are traveling, visiting family, on a work trip, or away at school outside Texas, we reschedule.
This website and the services described on it are directed to residents of Texas. They are not offered to people located outside the United States, and I do not seek clients outside Texas.
Using this site does not make you my client
Reading this website, downloading something from it, sending me an email, filling out a form, or booking a consultation does not create a therapist-client relationship between us.
That relationship begins only after we have met, I have confirmed I am the right fit for what you need, you have received and signed my informed consent and practice policies, and we have scheduled your first session. Until all of that has happened, nothing you send me is protected by the confidentiality that applies to therapy.
Booking a consultation
The scheduling link on this site places a request for a free 15-minute consultation. A booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation from me or from the scheduling service. A consultation is a conversation about fit. It is not a therapy session, it is not an assessment, and it does not create a therapist-client relationship.
Scheduling runs through a third-party service. Their terms and privacy practices apply to what you enter there, in addition to mine.
This site is not for emergencies
I do not monitor email, forms, or scheduling messages continuously, and I cannot respond to urgent situations through this website.
If you are in crisis or someone's safety is at risk, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
Please do not send clinical information through this site
Email and web forms are not secure. Please do not send details about your health, your history, your symptoms, or anything else you would consider private through the contact information or scheduling forms on this site. Tell me you would like to talk and we will find a secure way to do that.
If you do send that kind of information anyway, I will handle it with the same care I give everything else, but I cannot guarantee the security of what travels over ordinary email.
What is on this site, and what you may do with it
The writing, images, layout, and design on this site belong to me and are protected by copyright. You are welcome to read it, print it for your own use, and share a link to it. Please do not republish, sell, or present it as your own, and please do not use it to train a machine learning model, without my written permission.
If you quote a short passage with attribution and a link back, that is fine.
Links to other sites
This site links to other websites and services I do not control, including my scheduling service and any resources I recommend. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it, and I am not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of a site I do not run.
No guarantees
Everything on this site is provided as it is. I work hard to keep the information accurate and current, but I do not promise that it is complete, that it is error free, that the site will always be available, or that it is right for your particular situation.
Nothing on this site promises a result. Therapy outcomes depend on many things, most of them outside anyone's control.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent Texas law allows, I am not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of this website, including anything that follows from relying on general information here instead of getting individual professional advice.
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here limits my professional responsibilities to people who are actually my clients. Those are governed by our signed agreement, by the rules of the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council, and by Texas law.
Accessibility
I want this site to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or captions.
I am working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1, Level AA, as a guideline. I am not claiming the site currently meets every part of that standard.
If any part of this site is difficult for you to use, or if you would like something here in a different format, email keely@keelyrodrigueztherapy.com or call (956) 275-3232 and I will get it to you another way.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent me information through this site, please contact me and I will delete it
Whether a minor can consent to counseling is a separate question governed by Texas law, and we handle it directly, not through this website.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms. When I do, I will change the effective date at the top. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the current version. If a change is significant, I will say so on the page rather than quietly swapping the text.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising out of this website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Cameron County, Texas, and you agree to that venue.
